Grace Rumowicz

Growing up in Rhode Island, Grace moved to Massachusetts in 2019 to attend Clark University, where she obtained her master’s in environmental science and policy.
Inspired by a passion to work outside and a conservation job with Mass Audubon in high school, Grace pursued environmental studies as her undergrad. This program focused on understanding our environment as part of a larger system that human economic and political development cannot be separated from. She sees environmental advocacy as a way to unite different people over a shared connection and address many other structural inequalities that exacerbate these same issues.
Since graduating, Grace has worked at different environmental non-profits, including 2Gether we Eat in Worcester and Green Cambridge in Cambridge, MA. Her primary focus has been invasive plant management, community engagement and environmental education.
These roles inspired Grace to move further into the larger non-profit and community development field. Meeting and interacting with community members, as well as being introduced to so many other community development organizations and programs, led her more and more into the world of CDC’s.
Most recently, Grace completed a year-long service term with the Terracorps program as a Community Engagement Coordinator at the environmental non-profit Green Cambridge. In this role, she helped build out and lead their volunteering and environmental education program in the Alewife Brook Reservation.
In her free time, Grace enjoys drawing, being outdoors, and delving into anything with a good story.
