Large capital projects can shape the quality and future of public housing for years. This workshop will help local housing authority board members consider how to prioritize modernization needs, plan for long term costs, and make budget decisions that reflect both resident needs and available resources.

Participants will also explore how to monitor a project over time, ask useful questions, and support staff while staying within the board’s oversight role. The workshop will be facilitated by Avalon D. McLaren, Director of Project Management in the Capital Construction and Modernization Unit, Division of Public Housing, at the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (HLC).
