Board members face important decisions with limited time and complex information. This 90 minute virtual workshop introduces free and low cost AI tools to make meeting preparation more manageable. Using sample data and public materials, live demonstrations will show how to develop questions about financial reports, summarize meeting notes and next steps, and draft agendas and talking points. No prior AI experience is needed, and participants may follow along on their own devices.

The session establishes clear boundaries: never enter organizational financial statements, personnel matters, resident or client information, or executive session materials into AI tools. Open to all nonprofit board members and especially useful for chairs and officers, the workshop includes preparation prompts, a meeting preparation checklist, and a one page guide to safe AI use. Facilitated by Amanda Kean, an expert in finance and technology applications in the nonprofit sector.
