Description
The Boston Foundation has long recognized that naturally occurring affordable housing, or NOAH, offers a vital stock of unsubsidized homes that still provide some measure of affordable rental housing within communities. Acquiring NOAH properties is an important strategy that prevents residents from being evicted or displaced. Community development corporations (CDCs) play an important role in many of these acquisitions.
With support from the Boston Foundation, the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC) has launched an acquisition strategies initiative. Their new report, “Here Today, Here Tomorrow: CDC Acquisition of Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing,” reflects the collective knowledge of their member organizations and other community development practitioners.
Please join the Boston Foundation, MACDC, and representatives from CDCs to learn about the report and the unique role of NOAH properties in our region’s housing strategy.
