CHAPA’s free, six-month comprehensive leadership program is designed to equip local officials with a deeper knowledge of housing policy and the community engagement skills to implement solutions. It is intended for: - Mayors - City and Town Councilors - Select and Planning Board Members - Zoning Board of Appeals Members - Finance Committee Members - and members of other local boards and commissions that impact housing The program involves a time commitment of roughly 25 hours over 6 months and will empower local officials to create thriving communities with the diverse types of homes needed for people of all ages, incomes, and abilities. The next semester of the Massachusetts Housing Leadership Academy will run from June through December 2026. Leadership fellows are expected to attend all monthly seminars and cohort meetings. Seminars will be held virtually via Zoom, while small-group cohorts will meet in-person whenever possible. We'll celebrate with in-person social events at the beginning and end of the semester.
