Description

This hands-on session is designed to give you a very basic introduction to reading construction documents. We'll walk through what a typical set of plans looks like and explain how to find important information like identifying key symbols, interpreting scales and dimensions, and connecting plans to real-world construction activities. We'll cover how to navigate a full set of plans—from site plans to floor plans to elevations, sections and specifications—so you can understand what's being built, where, and how.   By the end of the session, you'll learn how to start making sense of drawings, even if you've never looked at plans before!

Who it's for: this is a beginner-friendly session with no prior experience needed. It is perfect for newer real estate developers, small contractors, admin staff, or anyone who wants to understand construction drawings at a simple, practical level.

MKI will provide coffee and pastries in the morning and lunch in the afternoon.
