Cambridge College, Mel King Institute for Community Building, and Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) have formed a partnership to deliver innovative programming designed to enhance the skills and resources of business development professionals who are committed to supporting the successful launch and growth of small businesses across the Commonwealth.

They are delivering a fourth cycle of innovative programming designed to enhance the skills and resources of business development professionals who are committed to supporting the successful launch and growth of small businesses across the Commonwealth. First offered in 2020, this program was well received by participants.

The program will offer 6 modules over 12 half days of training (9:30am - 12:30pm) to be held online via Zoom starting in March 2023. The courses will be taught by faculty from Cambridge College, seasoned business professionals and attorneys from the Lawyers for Civil Rights.

The program modules include:

  • Module 1 (3/1 & 3/8): Introduction to Small Business Environment
  • Module 2 (3/15 & 3/22): Business Planning Basics
  • Module 3 (3/29 & 4/5): Bookkeeping and Forecasting
  • Module 4 (4/12 & 4/26): Marketing Fundamentals & Brand Management
  • Module 5 (5/3 & 5/10): Small Business Legal Overview
  • Module 6 (5/17 & 5/24): Small Business Coaching

The program is open to anyone working as a business counselor or technical assistance provider to small businesses.
