Description
Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) Change initiatives can be powerful tools to address root causes and bring about impactful, sustained change. However, long timeframes, the iterative and evolving nature of PSE initiatives, and the large scale of most PSE change work makes it challenging to evaluate and show tangible progress and impact in both the short- and long-term. In this session Health Resources in Action’s Research & Evaluation team will share their learnings from evaluating and supporting PSE initiatives across fields, topics, and organization types, including sharing quantitative and qualitative approaches and tools that they have developed and implemented. The tools and approaches discussed in this training are adaptable and scalable and could be used from large, multi-grantee evaluation to individual organizations’ internal evaluation efforts. These tools can also serve as self-assessment frameworks for organizations and coalitions interested in better understanding their own PSE approaches for furthering their work or supporting funding applications. Using these frameworks and tools could also be used to strengthen local partnerships to engage communities in social justice movement building.
