Description

Nonprofits oriented to racial and economic justice are increasingly examining their pay scales and compensation structures--confronting how their current approaches position them inside the capitalist systems they are so often challenging through their external work.

NPQ is pleased to welcome back Mala Nagarajan joined by Richael Faithful to share principles and practical implementation guidance for redesigning your compensation framework to embody equity and justice values.

Mala has been working on pay equity with social justice organizations for 7 years, evolving her approach, creating robust, complex models and formulas that allow for a substantial number of factors, their relationship to one another, and priorities to be incorporated into each organization's approach.

Please join Mala and Richael to explore:

what is meant by "restorative compensation"

what factors beyond the "market value" of a given job we can build into our compensation frameworks

what legal constraints, perceived or actual, we may encounter

what changes in organizational culture support the shift to equitable compensation.
