The Senior Organizer Series is a year-long peer learning and skill development series for senior organizers. The series will support senior organizers and community engagement staff to deepen their skills and strengthen their networks, through six sessions (some will be in-person and some will be virtual).  Series participants will help determine session topics.  Possible topics may include:

Building and maintaining a network to support organizing efforts and you as an organizer

Supervision and management of an organizing team, including supporting organizers’ professional development

Advanced campaign strategy and problem solving or similar topic(s)

Community building and racial equity / racial justice

Roundtable discussion about different models of organizing and community engagement 

 

Dates: The cohort will meet on the following dates in 2023-2024:

Wed Sep 13 11:30am-1:30pm - in-person mixer 
Wed Oct 4 1-3pm (virtual)
Thu Nov 30 10am-12pm
Wed Jan 24 1-3pm
Thu March 21 10am-12pm
Wed May 22 1-3pm
June or July - in-person wrap up celebration.

 

Facilitators: Shirronda Almeida, Mel King Institute and Sarah Horsley, Rising Sun Consulting with additional guest facilitators and peer led components

Application process: complete the SOS application by August 4th (form includes an upload of your resume)
