Description

Increasingly, nonprofits are considering leadership structures that diverge from the traditional single executive director hierarchy. The reasons vary: the pandemic has pushed–and allowed–nonprofits to experiment with new ways of working; leaders are considering new ways to share power and to center proximate Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) leaders; and organizations see co-leadership as a way to think about succession planning intentionally and in more innovative ways in response to the “great resignation.”

Co-leadership is not a new model. In fact, nonprofit organizations have used co-CEO and co-executive director models to divide and conquer senior leadership responsibilities and to share power for many years.

Still, many have questions about how it works.

Join this webinar to learn from leaders from the Participatory Budgeting Project and ProInspire who have adopted a co-leadership approach. We will cover common questions about how this can be done well, pitfalls to watch out for, and how to transition to this model.
