Description

This September, the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) will launch the series, “Climate Equity In Action.” The program provides an accessible platform for engaging climate change, environmental justice, and climate equity leaders across the globe in conversations around the important work of developing a better future shaped and shared by all.

Our first conversation, “Women of Color Leading the Energy Justice Transition,”  features our CEO and President, Deeohn Ferris, moderating a panel with U.S. climate equity leaders, including Biden-Harris Administration Appointees about energy democracy, environmental justice, and Just Transition. This conversation has never been more important. In a joint editorial Tuesday September 7, 2021, more than 200 medical journals warn that climate change is the "greatest threat" to global public health. This unprecedented statement urges world leaders to cut heat-trapping emissions to avoid "catastrophic harm to health that will be impossible to reverse."  How will the U.S. respond? Join us for robust discussion with time for questions.
