The AMS is not only for asset managers, but for all professionals in the affordable housing industry looking to master the skills needed to ensure the double-bottom line of affordable housing – the financial sustainability of properties and portfolios, and the well-being of residents and their communities.

Financial Fundamentals of Asset Management (AM291) is the concluding course for the three-part series of the Asset Management Specialist (AMS) certificate.  This course introduces crucial concepts in real estate finance essential for professional asset managers. • Managing Debt: Learn loan calculations, amortization, interest compounding, refinancing for capital, and debt calculation strategies
  • Audit Analysis: Gain insights into interpreting audit findings and tracking debt effectively
  • Taxation: Explore the tax benefits associated with real estate ownership
  • Waterfall Analysis: Understand how cash flow waterfall models impact affordable and LIHTC properties
