Demystifying a property audit – review of the key aspects of the audit – the financial reports, the notes and the auditor’s opinion. Using the audit to understand property ownership, debt structure and financial health.

Participants will complete a case study designed to provide a useful overview of the property, analyzing financial performance, and gathering key property information from a typical property audit.

This is a hands-on training that includes an overview of the major components of a multifamily rental property audit with a case study practice exercise.  Where to find and how to interpret key property information related to the ownership and finances of the property. Preliminary online session will cover audit concepts and an introduction to key audit areas such as financial reports, notes, opinions and the concept of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Preliminary session will be followed by a hands-on case-study exercise where participants will identify key information from an actual audit and calculate property’s NOI and cash flow from the audit’s GAAP financial statement.  Follow up Session to review case study exercises, review any new issues that arise from case study.
