Description
Join facilitators Matt Thompson and Loraine Della Porta in a two part MKI training on conflict competency.
Conflict competency is a person’s ability to develop, use and hone their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral skills to facilitate productive outcomes of conflict while reducing the likelihood of escalation. The results of conflict competence include repaired relationships, creative solutions, and lasting agreements for addressing current and future challenges. Improving your conflict competence involves understanding the dynamics of conflict and your own “conflict style” – how you typically respond to conflict. In this workshop, we will explore these dynamics and introduce skills and strategies for managing emotions, assessing and diagnosing conflict and engaging with others more constructively. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their conflict resolution skills in "real-play" scenarios that are directly related to their work.
