Description

The recent Building AAPI Power report, released by Boston Indicators, shows that the Asian American population in Boston and Greater Boston has grown significantly in the past two decades. Today, Asian Americans account for about one in ten residents regionwide.

Issues affecting the Asian American community, however, often are obscured or overlooked because of under-reported data and the persistent ‘model minority’ myth. Despite a major step forward in city government—with the recent election of Michelle Wu as Boston’s Mayor—the issue of under-representation more broadly in municipal government and councils remains, as well as the potential for community members to further engage in advocacy.

Please join the Asian Community Fund to learn about the growing Asian American population in Greater Boston and discuss the opportunities and challenges facing this diverse community, with the goal of increasing visibility for all AAPI people.
