The Department of Housing & Community Development, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, the City of Quincy and the MA Chapter of the American Planning Association are excited to announce a free 1/2 day workshop, Fostering “Green” Culture as A Community Economic Development Strategy — A Discussion and Resource Expo, to take place at the Thomas Crane Public Library, 40 Washington Street, Quincy, Wednesday, November 10, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM.

The workshop, which is being cosponsored by the DOER Green Communities Division, MassDEP, the MA Chapter of the US Green Building Council and Mass Audubon, will include a Panel Presentation and Green/Sustainability Resources Expo.  Group discussions will examine how promoting a “Green” culture in communities can lead support for a wide range of local sustainability initiatives, resulting in long-term cost savings.

Registration is open to elected officials, community & economic development staff, city/town planners, citizen volunteers, non-profits, and the development community from throughout the Commonwealth.

The Diversity for Environmental & Social Change Leadership Series is a 5-part program designed to foster knowledgeable and skilled leadership to make diversity a hallmark and fundamental asset of environmental and social change efforts. The five sessions of the Leadership Series are sequential. (Session 1 is a prerequisite for Session 2; Session 1 and 2 are a prerequisite for Session 3, etc.) You may elect to participate in as many or as few of the sessions as you like, in order. Graduates of all five sessions receive a Certificate, upon completion of the Leadership Series.
