The Nonprofit Effectiveness Initiative is designed to support the efforts of Executive Directors, their organizational teams and Boards of Directors in creating realistic board diversification, fundraising and strategic plans.

Two topics will be offered on each training day between January and June 2010.  Specific training topics are offered on multiple dates enabling several individuals from the same organization to attend when convenient for his or her schedule.

Board Development, Led by Tammy Dowley-Blackman, Ed. M.

  • Determine your organization’s readiness to diversify

  • Create a plan to target appropriate talent to improve your Board’s effectiveness

Fund Development, Led by Christina Yoon, Ph.D.

  • Gain an overview of principles and components of fund development

  • Build a framework for an organizational fund development plan

Strategic Planning, Led by Claudia Lach, M.A., M.S. and Doris Ferrer Roach, J.D.

  • Gain an overview of the strategic planning process

  • Understand how strategic planning can develop clarity for future organizational growth

All workshops take place from 8:30am to 4:00pm and include lunch.
